What is Telebu?

What is telebu

Telebu Communications LLP was formerly called SMSCountry Networks.

It was founded in 2003 by Satya Yerramsetti and others. With the vision to enable easy enterprise communication, they developed products that made sending SMS messages simple.

It was an instant hit.

Telebu’s workforce grew rapidly. They established a strong presence with multiple offices throughout India and the GCC.

But as technology boomed, communication evolved.

Businesses had to adapt and scale—and, of course, Telebu did, too.

They knew they needed to develop more communication solutions to keep everyone talking, texting, and collaborating seamlessly. So, they changed their name from SMSCountry Networks to Telebu Communications.

SMSCountry rebranding to Telebu

In Satya’s own words, Telebu was quickly becoming

“a brand that will take [businesses] into the future. The [new] name “Telebu Communications” encompasses the spirit of all we want to do and what we are doing right now.”

Fast-forward to today, Telebu offers B2B tech and SaaS products like

Amongst others.

These tools help scale organisations and businesses in over 200 countries.

Telebu’s clientele includes the Government of Telangana (India), Hyundai, Levi’s, and Britannia, among many other clientele.

How do they manage to pull it off? It’s all about two things:

  • Telebu’s organisational structure and
  • Telebu’s culture

What is Telebu’s organisational structure?

Telebu's executives in a hierarchical organisational structure

Telebu uses a simple hierarchical structure with cross-functional and flat elements. Here’s how it works.

  • Hierarchical: A clear chain of command with the CEO at the top.
  • Flat – Everyone can talk to anyone.
  • Cross-functional: The departmental breakdown. HR, Marketing, Technology and others.

Check out our ultimate guide to organisational structure.

A. Hierarchical

Satya Kalyan Yerramsetti is the founder and CEO of Telebu. He’s the visionary leader. He sets the direction for Telebu.

B. Flat

Though there’s a clear chain of command, Telebu also uses a flat structure to enable smooth and open communication in the organisation.

What does this mean?

It’s very easy for hierarchies to create a bureaucracy and choke creativity and fast flow of information within the organisation.

In Telebu, the hierarchies ensure accountability and responsibility while the flat structure makes it easy for a copywriter to easily speak with anyone, even the CEO.

Telebu uses Talk Magnet as their go-to team communication software because of the simplicity and ease of use it provides.

So, what makes Telebu different?

Telebu has a secret weapon — a company culture that’s as unique as it is successful. Let’s peek behind the curtain and see what makes them tick.

What’s special about Telebu’s culture?

Let’s discuss the three Es that define Telebu’s culture:

  • Experiment
  • Evolve, and
  • Enjoy.

#1. Experiment

McKinsey & Company confirms this: Companies that encourage creativity always outshine their peers.

Remember when you drafted something amazing, and it turned into a fantastic idea (at least in your mind)? Telebu encourages that kind of creative thinking among their teams.

But wait, isn’t that risky? What if all those ideas don’t work?

Well, that’s the beauty of it.

Even if an idea doesn’t quite hit the mark, it’s all part of the learning process. It’s like baking a cake. Sometimes, you must try a few recipes before finding the perfect one, right?

This is what gave birth to top solutions like SMSCountry, TelebuSocial, Talk Magnet, and TelebuHub.

#2. Evolve

Okay, so Telebu likes to have fun at work. But what about keeping up with the ever-changing world of tech?

These days, the tech world changes quicker than hairstyles.

Telebu understands this. So, they ensure their team is constantly learning and growing.

They offer training sessions with experienced mentors and projects that challenge the team in the best way possible.

But hold on, there’s one more key ingredient in Telebu’s culture.

#3. Enjoy

Let’s face it, work shouldn’t feel like a chore you dread every morning. This is what Telebu’s workers love the most.

Telebu wants their crew to be happy and enjoy themselves while conquering the tech world. So teams have access to

  • fun team-building activities
  • flexible work arrangements, and
  • a super supportive atmosphere

Making everyone feel like part of the family.

Remember when you worked on a big school project with your best friends? It felt more like an adventure than a chore, right? That’s the kind of vibe Telebu creates.

Keeping things positive and enjoyable fuels creativity and ensures Telebu’s teams are happy and fulfilled.

But, like all formulas, there are two sides to every coin.

What are the pros and cons of Telebu’s organisational structure?

Every structure has its positives and drawbacks, and Telebu’s is no different.

Pros of Telebu’s organisational structure

Here’s a breakdown of the perks:

  • Clear roles = zero confusion. No more mystery or finger-pointing. Everyone at Telebu knows exactly what their job is.
  • Expertise reigns. Imagine a team of superheroes, each with their own unique skill. That’s like Telebu’s departments. Everyone brings their A-game to the table.
  • Decisions on fast forward. No need to wait for approvals to come down from Mount Olympus. Telebu’s flat organisational structure ensures decisions are made quickly.
  • Keeps up with the trends. Teams experiment with new strategies, keeping Telebu ahead of the competition.
  • It attracts top talent. Clear career paths attract skilled workers around the globe. It’s like having a winning record – everyone wants to join the team.

And the downsides?

Cons of Telebu’s organisational structure

Telebu’s a powerhouse. But that doesn’t mean their structure fits everyone.

  • One size doesn’t fit all. A tiny startup doesn’t necessarily need separate large teams to run their businesses. Choose a structure that adapts to your specific needs and resources.
  • Big choices need diverse input. Not every decision is best made by a small, focused team. Strategic choices often benefit from hearing from different departments with their unique expertise.

Understanding Telebu’s structure is valuable. But keeping your teams working together smoothly is the key to your success. That’s where the best team collaboration and communication tools come in.
